How And Why Do We Celebrate National Donut Day

National Doughnut Day was originally created to celebrate and fundraise for the Salvation Army, it was because the Salvation Army sent “Lassies” to the front lines of the World War to make home-cooked foods for the soldiers at war.

For those that live under a rock, Donuts are a round dough-based treat cooked in oil, during the war though soldiers would have to improvise ways to cook them on the front line, including using metal helmets as the container to house the oil!

So how can you celebrate, well of all the things in need right now are small businesses. So if you know a local donut shop buy a dozen from them. If you are not lucky enough to have a nearby donut shop, then check out these deals from the major companies!
