Cards Against Humanity Wants To Get Your Girls Into STEM

Are you a female, with an inquisitive mind, and want to work in the field of:

  • Science
  • Technology
  • Engineering; and
  • Math
  • Then you should know about check out Cards Against Humanity’s Women in STEM, now accepting Applications for the new year.

    How do you submit your Application?
    To submit your Applications, you have to record a passionate three–minute or less video explaining a STEM topic. Your goal is that you are making the video as if you are teaching the topic to someone. Your video must be scientifically accurate, and while they wouldn’t mind if you cite your sources, but it’s not neccessary.

    Then after you are done with your video, upload it to youtube as public. Cards Against Humanity‘s women of STEM advisory board will review the videos and select a finalist, for the next stage of the of scholarship contest, and winners will be announced in April 2020.

    Your video can explain any STEM topic from the above list, in a mini-lecture, not a personal statement. (This is not a college application.) Additionally to be eligable for this scholarship, you must be a high school senior or an undergraduate college student with a STEM field major, STEM minor’s need not apply. Maybe they’d allow a double major as long as they are equal?

    But how did Cards Against Humanity create this scholarship?
    Cards Against Humanity created their Science Pack, a 30–card expansion pack co–authored with Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal‘s Zach Weinersmith and Bad Astronomy‘s Phil Plait.

    Profit from the Science Pack provide the scholarship funds for the Cards Against Humanity’s Women in STEM Scholarship. So far they have provided $1,330,963 from the sale of the pack.

    They ask that you purchase the Science Pack or spread word to potential purchasers, or eligible students who would want to participate!

    But hurry and submit your Applications, because they are due by Monday, December 9th, 2019.
