SDCC 2018 First Look – DC Universe App Hands on Demo!

At the DC Universe Experience, we got a special chance to check out DC’s new streaming service, which is currently in its beta stages, and is meant to give services like Netflix a run for their money.

Imagine a streaming platform that intelligently groups shows, movies, digital comics, and web articles to help you better understand a character like The Joker. Yeah, you can read full digital comics or watch new DC releases on your TV, tablet, mobile phone, or laptop at the drop of a hat. You can purchase items like comic books, as well, if they’re not available for free streaming on the service, and add them to your collection.

You can even chat in a forum that is made for sharing your love for the DCU in a safe and friendly environment.

It doesn’t start with 4k content, but we’ve been told that it is something that will be on the horizon if enough of it’s users show that they want the content.

DC Universe App will be releasing fall this year. The app is available for $7.99 a month, or for a small savings, $74.99 a year. The price matches the lowest tier Netflix membership!

IF you pre-order the annual membership now, during Comic Con, you will receive three months free and will also get a chance to be entered into the beta test.

If you can’t wait, and would like to preorder the app, you can do so here
