Before sitting down to interview the creator and talent of Dream Corp LLC we watched the first episode. Here is our take on the series and if you should watch it or not.
First Impression:
This is a brand new show to Adult Swim. While Adult Swim is no stranger to animated works, or live action works, combining the two with the use of Rotoscoping is new to the channel.
Some people are going to immediately fall in love with the animation style. It’s beautiful and impressive. The only draw back of the animation is based off the style of the piece. Since all of the animation represents people’s dreamscapes, the animation will morph mid scene to fit the style and story.
That’s not a draw back, but it does jar you a bit.
The comedy is dry, and the stories are short, but it’s that dry and raunchy humor that will allow this show to reach a slightly larger crowd then Adult Swim normally is able to.
Is It Worth The Watch:
It’s funny and it’s enjoyable, but the 15 minute format is a bit small on this one. This is a show that if they had more time it would be able to do amazing things. Does that take away from the story, the acting, or the humor? A bit. It wouldn’t be true if I said it doesn’t.
All together though, it’s worth the time and the energy to watch it though. It pulls you in. If the worst thing you can say about a show is that you wish there was more of it, so you could keep watching… there are worse problems.
