The holidays are in full swing, and for a special “Nerd Out”, we’ve decided to showcase all the amazing things you can do with your family and friends this month! So here is once again the lists of events headed to Los Angeles this month. I hope you guys like the list, and let us know if you are attending these events, or if you want us to shout out about events in the following months!

  • Descanso Gardens Available in La Cañada Flintridge all month long in December.

The Descanso Gardens are decorated in November each year with large and small lights, which is manipulated be the attendees as they travel through the mile long nature walk!

Walk through the amazing and beautiful garden, as the lights enchant the night. Fair warning though, if it does rain, as rain has returned to California, they do not cancel or reschedule your tickets. I recommend bringing a warm coat and umbrella.

General Admission tickets to the event are available for $23 for members, but $28 for non-members. Purchase your tickets Here

The best ticket for the event though is the VIP experience ticket for $80. The VIP ticket includes all the prior benefits, but adds an expedited entry line, and exclusive VIP lounge. Candy Cane Lane Coming to Woodland Hills all month long in December.

This section of Woodland Hills goes all out for Christmas, and as a result, a community has sprung up. Every year the residents in this area decorate their house with thousands of bulbs, and tons of displays. Showcasing a huge breach of commercial license laws, but for the benefit of the children who come to visit. If you attend you might even see a celebrity or two, enjoying the holiday with their family. It’s not just lights though, as roving vendors have appeared in the recent years, selling fair/parade like toys. Residents even got into the act, as some sell hot cocoa and coffee on their driveways.

You can either sit in your car, and move at the speed of a snail, or you can park at the main road, and walk through the neighbor hood. Either way, take in the beauty, and showcase the wonderment for your younger children!

There is no tickets for this event, it is free, and you can just attend!

Opening Day Craft Beer & Cider Festival Coming to Santa Anita December 26, 2019.

I can’t talk about this event without first mentioning that there is a major issue currently in the horse racing community, with the recent influx of deaths of their horses. I can not stress this enough, one horse dying from this sport, is to many. Freak accidents can always be expected in any sports, but it happens to often to consider it a freak occurance.

That said, Santa Anita Park is opening back up for the season, and to celebrate they are bringing a festival of brews and ciders. They will even have BBQ from Meathead BBQ. for anyone who plans to eat ribs, while enjoying the races.

Tickets for the event are available in a General Admission ticket for $32 (available for $20 until December 16, 2019 for early birds), and a VIP ticket package for $55 (or $40 until December 16, 2019).
