Nerd Out: April 2021

As more vaccines are being distributed, to more people groups than before, more opportunities are presenting themselves as nerd society recovers for events. If you are trying to find some fun though, we’d love to help!

Before we go into the details of the events, we want to remind people that we are still within the thralls of a pandemic, and recommend people check out our article on ”If You Should Go Out” Here. In keeping with our promise within that article though, each event we are talking about will have an Is It Safe section discussing steps taken by the organization to keep the attendees safe. Please consider that though before making your ticket purchases.

Some of the cool things going on this month are:

  • Sugar Rush
  • Stranger Things Drive-Into Experience
  • Wizard’s Den
  • Micro Con
  • Sugar Rush Available in Woodland Hills through May.

If you’ve loved the other events run by this event, WonderLAnd being one of them, then you’ll be excited to jump back into another event for you and your family. The same location has shifted from vehicles for their socially distanced walk-through event. You and your family will be able to walk through the experience and choose your own candy adventure.

With over 500,000 lights, 7 stages, and 500 art displays, all set to music pumped into your car through your FM radio, this event is a lot! Plus it’s a 1-hour experience. Get that money worth for your family!

    Is It Safe?
The event is outdoors, with limits for groups engaging in it. As long as you were your mask, and keep your distance from other parties, the event has metered the event to prevent overtaxing and overcrowding.

Tickets for this event are starting at $30 per person, but discount as grouped. Purchase your tickets Here. Check out our announcement article Here, before it switched to an walk-through event!

Stranger Things Drive-Into Experience Available in Los Angeles continuing through April 11th.

Originally planned to only be through the Halloween holidays, this event has been extended through to spring because of the speed at which it sells out. From the people who have attended it, we can honestly say that this experience is well worth the price point of the ticket.

Additionally, if you are a fan of the series, this is a must for you!

    Is It Safe?
The event is distanced, as long as the people inside the vehicle are your family.

Tickets to the event start at $59 for two people in one car, but pricing is done per person and can get a little pricey. Fair warning tickets still do sell out but are added regularly. If you miss this month, the event continues on through Spring. Purchase your tickets Here. Check out our announcement article Here!

Wizard’s Den Available in Hollywood from April 20th, through August.

Fan of Wizards, magic, and alcoholic beverages? Then you’ll want to visit this magical pop-up. Included with the ticket are a 90-minute experience, a magic wand during your experience, a butterbeer, and two alcoholic potions that the potion master will help you make.

    Is It Safe?
The event has limited its ticketing, for the purpose of COVID-19 safety procedures, but their exact actions to protect attendees are not known. You will be in an enclosed space with people though, and since there will be drinks people will not be wearing masks the entire time. However, it is as dangerous as dining indoors.

Tickets for this event are starting at $40. Purchase your tickets Here.
