Movies and Videos On Demand For The Week Of May 28, 2021

As we prepare for the opening of theaters and the return to normal life practices, we want to remind people that we are still within the thralls of a pandemic, and recommend people check out our article on ”If You Should Go Out” Here. Until then though, if you do go to a theater make sure it has a policy of requiring attendees to wear masks, and sit in isolated groups out of proximity of other viewers.

A live-action telling of the rebellious history and early life of Cruella de Vil set in the 1970s. Learn more about the youth of the villain from 101 Dalmation movie. See how her fued with Baroness von Hellman, played by Emma Thompson, as their fashion and fight creates one of the most evil people of Disney’s history.


Endangered Species – Releasing in Theaters

Jack, played by Philip Winchester, takes his wife Lauren, played by Rebecca Romijn, and his family on a vacation to Kenya, but when a trip off the reservation injures him, and leaves his wife without her insulin they struggle to survive. Things are made worse though when their savior ends up being a poacher, played by Jerry O’Connell, who is willing to kill them to protect his secret.

From the dangers of animal, to the cruelty of man, this movie takes you through many horrors one can experience in an area that is unwelcoming to them. Additionally, they even have a couple “red shirts” they brought with them to be picked off before only the main four remain. If you are looking for a suspenseful survival story, then check out this film.


Funhouse – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming

Down and out Kasper, played by Valter Skarsgård, has failed as a singer, and couldn’t even make it as a celebrity husband. To rebrand himself, and potentially win 5 Million dollars he and 7 other c-list celebrities join a reality show called Funhouse. However the fun and love takes a turn when contestants start to end up murdered.

Part Saw, part Big Brother, this movie focuses on the horror and realization that anyone would watch or enjoy murder and torture as long as it’s all “part of the show.” If you disagree with me, then lets see how well this movie does on release. That being said, if you are a horror fan, this movie looks just gorey and brutal enough to go the distance.


A Quiet Place Part II – Releasing in Theaters

After witnessing the death of Lee, John Krasinski, to save his family, the remaining members of the Abbotts, lead by Evelyn, played by Emily Blunt, continue to search for a place to be safe from the monsters that have taken over this world. As they make their way through the world, they learn there are more dangerous things then monsters left on the planet.

If you liked the original movie, then jump back into the world. While John Krasinski does not play as active a role in the movie acting, he is peppered in the series for flashbacks. It’s only easier to direct the film when you don’t have to be in the whole thing too.


Women – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming

A detective, played by Adam Dorsey, is looking into a missing woman in the town, when his path takes him upon a professor who has a dark secret. As more and more women turn up dead, the story deepens into the professors obsessions.

If you have a hard time with stalking, power dynamics, or violence against women, then you might want to skip this film. However, if you are a fan of suspense gritty horror stories then this film will hold your attention as you hope the victims survive and the monster get’s his due.
