A group of zoo animals escapes from their zoo with the intent of returning to the outback, where they will fit in and not be judged and gawked at by tourists, and strangers. However, their plan takes a turn when another unliked animal, a koala played by Tim Minchin, so they must take him along as they attempt to keep themselves ahead of the zookeepers played by Eric Bana and Diesel La Torraca. Starring the voices of Isla Fisher, Miranda Tapsell, Guy Pearce, and Angus Imrie.

The movie doesn’t really look like one of the best films out this week, but it’s a kid’s film, and the product does have some really big names as well.

Castle Falls – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming

A hospital with a racist history is about to be demolished, but a criminal hid his nest egg within the facility. Now a demo specialist, played by Scott Adkins, who found the money, and a prison guard, played by Dolph Lundgren, find themselves trapped with the money while a gang of criminals tries to find it, as a ticking clock is set in motion for the demolition.

It’s a race against the clock film. It reminds me a lot of O Brother, Where Art Thou?, but with a serious flair to it. I love to see Lundgren getting more work, but I worry that this film isn’t probably the best vehicle for his comeback. I could be wrong. IF you are looking for a drama-action film then check this one out.

Deadlock – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming

Ron Whitlock, played by Bruce Willis, is leading his crew of criminals to get revenge while trying to keep a step ahead of the government. However, when they take over an energy plant and hold its workers hostage, A retired army ranger, played by Patrick Muldoon, will attempt to save the day before massive flooding will put the facility into jeopardy.

Another Willis film this year… holy hell this is a lot of films for him. I guess he was working through COVID non-stop. Unfortunately, though this film doesn’t look too amazing, you can always choose between this one and Castle Falls if you need an action film.

Red Rocket – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 86%

After failing in Los Angeles, Mikey, played by Simon Rex, returns to his hometown in Texas to return to his estranged wife and her family. Things begin to work, and his hometown welcomes him back until he starts to fall back into his prior habits when he encounters a new woman working at a local doughnut shop.

It’s a pretty adult story with some nudity, but Simon Rex’s performance is supposedly very well performed, and his journey in the film seems to be very engaging. If you’d like an interesting film this week, then you should definitely check out Red Rocket.

Silent Night – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 65%

Nell, played by Keira Knightley, and Simon, played by Matthew Goode, decide they want to celebrate the old days of their youth and invite their closest friends for a family and friends Christmas dinner. However, as they try to keep their spirits in a jolly mood, the world around them is falling apart.

Part horror, part drama with some comedy thrown in, this film will be a great movie for people to get into the holidays, without being a traditional and boring holiday film. Also who doesn’t love Keira Knightley?
