Marvels Gaming and Marvel VS Capcom: Infinite

Hey Super Hero, Comic book, and Marvel fans! Welcome back for another article on
Nerd News Social. This article is a very special one! It’s a San Diego Comic-Con
special!

First off, Comic-Con was a blast! I met really great people and saw really awesome
things. In fact, one of the many awesome experiences I had was seeing the Marvel
gaming panel and the Marvel VS Capcom Infinite Panel. And here are some reasons
why the panels were awesome!

Starting Thursday at 1:00PM, I had the pleasure of sitting in on the Marvel Gaming
Panel at Comic-con. The room filled up quick and there was lots of excitement. Greg
Miller hosted the panel, which he is hilarious. The panel invited and hosted:

-Vice President and Executive Producer– Mike Jones
-Creative Director– Bill Rosemann.
-Head Designer of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2– Arthur Parsons
-Associate Brand Manager of Marvel VS Capcom: Infinite– Brett Elston
-Creative Director of Marvel’s Spider-Man– Bryan Intihar
-Executive Producer of Telltale Games for Guardians of the Galaxy– Justin Lambros
-Creative Director of MARVEL Powers United VR– Mat Kraemer.

Now that we got the intros out of the way, lets get on with the content. Lets start
with MARVEL Powers United VR –

MARVEL Powers United VR

This was a huge talk at the Marvel Gaming Panel on Thursday. First day of panels
and they did it right! This game takes you on a mission to defeat the masters of evil
in the Marvel universe. I actually had the pleasure and luck of getting a fast pass and
returning to play the VR game before the last day. While standing in line, I also had
the upmost joy to meet and talk with Mat Kraemer on the game. He even was kind
enough to give us some information on the game and what to expect. Here is a
recording of what he had to say…

Playing the game was awesome! The story is of the villains from the Marvel universe
have come together to steal a power cube. They have then split the cube and
scattered it across the universe. Each villain rules in parts of the galaxy. You use
lockjaw to help you teleport to your missions.

The game also has many, many outcomes and is randomized, so every time
you play, it’ll be something different. One thing Marvel mentioned for example was
that when you get to a boss, it can be one boss or even up to three bosses. This gives
the player a desire to replay a mission and see what the outcome may be. The game
can be played by up to four player co-op, or single player with AI. This is great
because I think we need more four-player hero games out there. The fact that it will
be VR is also amazing.

The game will be able to played with Rocket Raccoon, Hulk, Captain Marvel,
and they also announced that it will be adding Deadpool to the game (and you can
have a toiled plunger to beat people with in the game). The villain so far announced
was Thanos for now, but the panel promised that they have a great roster of bosses
lined up to face off with. I personally played as Captain Marvel, but my teammate
playing with Deadpool did great. The VR is the whole nine yards, controllers and
everything. Your able to look at your hands, make a fist, grab items by reaching for
them, and comfortably move with the controllers. The world they created was
amazing and you can practically do anything you can imagine. Looking at your
teammates makes it seem like they’re right in front of you.

Each character had special abilities and skills. For example, Rocket Raccoon
and Captain Marvel are able to fly and battle from up top. Captain Marvel can hold
up her shields and power up, once her gauges fill up on her shields, she is able to fire
a continues blast stream that does massive damage and eliminates a lot of enemies
quickly.

As far as we know, the five heroes in the game are the only ones announced,
but we will see who they will bring out as well! The game will be released in 2018.
We don’t have a month or date, but keep an eye out for pre-orders and more!

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2; TT GAMES

The team touched base on this a little bit. This Lego game will directly lead off from
the first one. The story continues and they strive to create a bigger and better world.
You can battle across this galaxy and opened universe with many characters. The
cover shows a lot of promise, especially with crosses of new heroes and villains.
Chronopolis is now the world you will be playing it. With a bunch of locations ripped
apart through space and time. One of the villains announced from the game was a
new character they have made; Carnom. Its Venom and Carnage combined together!
Really well done and created. Release date for this has been set to November 14,
2017. It’s already out for pre-order so hit up your GameStop’s and Best Buys and
pre-order it today!

Marvel VS Capcom: Infinite; Capcom

What a world we live in now. One of the best crossovers of all time: Marvel
VS Capcom. This is very exciting guys! This is the first time that Marvel has taken
over a huge game like this, and let me tell you…it looks amazing! I played the game,
watched the trailer, sat in the panels, and pre-ordered it the day of! The story is
amazing in this game.

In the beginning of the game, we see Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk,
and some other heroes fight Ultron and his minions. They put up a fight but are
ultimately defeated. Not knowing what to do, they decide to go to Thanos for advice.
Keep in mind; this universe is completely separate from what you’re used to. The
heroes and villains are mostly the same, but Marvel has put on a great story and
twist to it. The Infinity Stones are spread across the galaxy and Ultron has helped
spread them to the villains he is working with. Thanos can sense the stones, and
Gamora is the one to convince her father to help them. She makes an Ultimatum that
Thanos wants to rule all and destroy who he can. However, if Ultron makes
everyone under his control and rules, Thanos would lose that spot of being the most
powerful. He agrees to help them to find and retrieve the Infinity Stones. The first
one he senses is on a new place Marvel created called Knowmoon. The level looks
amazing and cool, especially to fight in.

Marvel really did a fantastic job at joining Marvel and Capcom characters
together. We got a sneak peak on some heroes that team up. One combination was
Rocket Raccoon and Mega Man. Rocket tells Captain Marvel to go ahead and he will
face the enemy. Another combo was also revealed with a new map. The map is
Valkanda, the combination of Val Harbor and Wakanda. The map looks nice and very
well thought out. They put elements from both worlds and combined them in a way
where you can recognize both worlds. On Valkanda, you get to battle giant monsters.
Who better to fight giant monsters? Ryu and Hulk. Let me tell you guys, the cut
scene of how they defeat the monster was my favorite footage ever. I got
goosebumps.

Marvel did a very outstanding job of this. Being a filmmaker and appreciating
story, I think this one will surprise fans a lot. The fact that they incorporated an
awesome story with a classic fighting game does justice to fans. Now there’s no
pointless fighting, right? Marvel VS Capcom will be out September 19, 2017, with a
Japan release on September 21, 2017. It will be available on Xbox, PS4, and
Windows/PC. Pre-order today and lets play!

Marvel’s Spider-Man The Game

Guys, its coming…the Spider-Man game that was announced a little while ago is
launching next year! Rumors say it’ll be around Quarter 1 or 2, but we want them to
make it right! Insomniac has teamed up with Marvel to make this new exciting
game. A new antagonist that most aren’t familiar with, Mr. Negative (Martin Li), will
be Spider-Mans nemesis in this game. We have also heard that Wilson Fisk will play
a roll in this game. Pretty much, Spider-Man needs to work on taking on multiple
enemies and saving the city. And exclusive poster and picture was also given out this
past weekend. The team wanted to create interesting environments for Spider-Man
to fight in. The picture shows Spider-Man through a train, being attacked by Mr.
Negative. This will be one of the main fights in the gameplay. The new Spider-Man is
also mentioned to be a completely new Spider-Man. It’s still Ultimate Spider-Man,
Miles Morales, but with a completely different suite and white spider, its exciting to
see what Marvel will being to the table. Spider-Man is already out for pre-order, so
go get it guys!

Telltale Games: Guardians of the Galaxy

Okay gamers, if you’re into story and your favorite characters, I hope you have
played some Telltale games! And if you haven’t had the chance to, Guardians of the
Galaxy now has a Telltale game. Backed up by Marvel, a story is being created for
this game. Two episodes are currently out, with the third one coming August 22.
Marvel showed us some clips from episode 3 and it looks amazing. Episode 3 will
concentrate on Gamora and her childhood with her sister and father, Thanos. Each
episode shows a good amount of history and character reveal of each Guardian in
the group. This game combines great story, with some drama, and the Marvel humor
we have grown to love. Other episodes will come out soon! So download the season
pass and enjoy!

Future Fight/Contest of Champions

For those of you all about mobile games, Marvel touched base a little on Future Fight
and Contest of Champions.

Contest of Champions –

Just in case you haven’t heard of or downloaded this app, do it. It free to play! Unlike
other mobile games, this Marvel game can be played for hours. Now there is an
energy supply, and once that’s out, you need to wait for it to recharge before going
out to a mission. However, theres so many freebees and time is short on recharge,
you’ll be back to playing shortly. The game is awesome because you can build a team
of Heroes and Villains and go at it. Gameplay is similar to Marvel VS Capcom or
Mortal Combat. It is a 2D fighting style but with 3D rendering so it looks awesome!
You can get all your favorite characters through missions and experience and
ultimately create the perfect team. Since Spider-Man homecoming has come out,
they have added some nice updates. Vulcher, Doc-Oc, and Green Goblin have been
added and ready to fight. Download it today and enjoy!

Future Fight –

Same thing as above guys, in case you haven’t downloaded this one either, its FREE!
Future Fight is actually a really cool mobile game. I have gotten really far into this
game. Getting my favorite heroes in this was no easy task, but worth it. The story
behind this game is that Ultron and some of his pals have created a dimensional rift
which spiraled out of control. Different universes and characters must come
together to save….well the existence of everything. Villains become heroes, and
heroes become villains. With everything at stake, its up to you to put a stop to all the
bad guys from destroying the worlds and of course with the help of Jemma
Simmons! Also same as above, since Spider-Man the movie, updates of hit the game
for new quests and adventures. Every time a Marvel show or movie comes out, you
can expect an awesome update that creates your new favorite characters and
worlds. Download today and save the world!
