TouchPoint Wristbands – An Honest Review

TouchPoint Wrist Bands Saved My Life

No, really. I’m a person who is challenged by several mental health issues. I suffer from anxiety, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and major depression. It’s a lot. So when I say that these things saved my life, I’m not speaking metaphorically.

The incident in question has me driving my car on the way to work, and getting a full-blown panic attack on the freeway. This is Los Angeles, so the freeway is full of cars blowing by at top speed because it’s that one hour a day where there isn’t traffic. So my heart is racing, my vision is blurring, I can’t concentrate on where the cars around me are, let alone have the wherewithal to work the car I’m driving. Honking is making it worse, because now I’m plagued with overwhelm, which then feeds back into the anxiety.

Cue the TouchPoints. My husband had placed these in my car before I left. He said that I was supposed to try them out so I could write this very article. What better time to try them than right now! All I did was hold them in my lap and set them to the Fastest Mode. I was able to pull over and let them really take effect by putting them on my wrists, using the magnetic straps that look almost like chain bracelets. After about 15 minutes, my heart slowed, my breathing was more manageable, and most importantly, I didn’t get killed by the other drivers on the road.

After that point, they stayed in my purse for just such occasions. The technology in these little miracles uses a stress-reducing method called BLAST. It’s bi-lateral, alternating tactile stimulation. Basically what it does is shock your brain out of the stress by giving it something else to focus on. Using them frequently can even train your brain to reduce stress regularly.

BLAST works for a wide variety of health issues. We already covered anxiety as one, but it also helps with overstimulation. Are you ready for another storytime?

My two-year-old was diagnosed with autism. She sometimes has meltdowns from overstimulation. One night, she woke up suddenly and immediately went into a meltdown from being completely overtired. After hours of trying to calm her down, a thought popped into my head. What if I could use the TouchPoints on her? I wouldn’t be able to get them on her wrists, but what I could do is try other methods. While I wasn’t able to touch her due to her current situation (literally any stimulation with touch makes it worse), so I placed them on the hardwood floor on either side of her and just held them in place. The gentle buzzing alternated and vibrated the floor near her and she almost immediately calmed down. After a couple of minutes, I was able to hold her, where I put the TouchPoints on her thighs and held them in place. Within 30 minutes, she was back to sleep.

BLAST works. It’s incredible how well it works. I can’t believe how blessed I am to have these in my life. They’re worth every penny.
