Hotel Transylvania 2 recently came out on DVD/Bluray, and what are the minds of the IP working on next? Well Hotel Transylvania 3. To be honest, when we interviewed Genndy Tartakovsky a while back for Samurai Jack, we knew how excited he was to be working on the third installment.
What we didn’t know at the time, was that Sony was working with Disney on a cartoon prequel. Because everything has a prequel now.
The TV series will be 26 half hour episodes, focusing on the youth of Mavis. While her father is away, the vampire will play. They will introduce new Mavis friends based off of the side characters, if they had children. In addition the parent character will be played by a more strict vampire aunt.
What they couldn’t get Adam Sandler? Man, you can get Adam Sandler for a birthday party these days. I kid though. There is no confirmation if the voice actors will return if any, as Disney is being very tight lipped about the voice cast of a show coming out in a month.
The new show is coming to the Disney Channel on June 25th, but if you want to get a peek at it a bit early download the Disney Channel app and start streaming it as early as June 20th!
As for the movie? Hotel Transylvania is coming to theaters in 2018, likely in September if they stick to the trend.
