Scandinavian Festival Returns To California Lutheran University For 45th Year

One of our favorite things every April is the Scandinavian Festival, which pained us last year when they canceled the festival due to the Coronavirus, but much like a Viking, you can’t keep them down. While the festival is still planning to return this year, they are pushing their event back a bit. Now if you want to enjoy a chunk of your Scandinavian heritage, you can do that from June 4, 2022, through June 5, 2022.

While it’s not clear exactly what they are bringing back after COVID hit them away, here is what they have allowed in the past:

  • Scandinavian region foods for purchase, from Lefse to Aebleskivers.
  • Live reading of Scandinavian tales.
  • Family friendly craft projects.
  • Viking encampment reenactment.
  • Live cooking demonstrations.
  • Artisan goods for purchase.
  • Family friendly shows.
  • Scandinavian games.
  • Live music.
  • We have learned so many amazing dishes from the live cooking demonstration and always come home with a new family dish to bring into the rotation.

In the past, they have even offered a Viking Cruise raffle. If you are interested, in the past they have sold raffle tickets for $100, or two tickets for $150.

Parking for the festival is free, and children under 12 are also free. Anyone older than 12 cost $15 a person. You can even pre-purchase your tickets Here on Eventbrite.
