Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Rooftop films Event

Rooftop Films and Amazon Prime joined forces to create a marvelous event for their fans, showcasing an episode of the Amazon Prime Original, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The event took places at the historic Green-wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. Showcasing the episode “We’re Going to the Catskills” from season 2 of the show. As an additional treat for those in attendance, they let their guests have a taste of the experience from within the episode.

Upon arrival guests were given a blanket from a car just like the one the Maisels arrive in, and then invited to wander inside to get refreshments or take part in one of the preshow’s activities.

During the preshow, people where able to enjoy lawn games, get food and drinks, and take three different photo-ops. The first photo opportunity featured a beautiful backdrop of the show title made completely out of flowers. The next photo-op was a giant version of Susie’s pink plunger, and the last being a giant version of Midge’s icon blue hat.

The lawn games included ping pong, corn hole, shuffle board, and fans were encouraged to attempts at hula hooping. They provided a variety of food which was very impressive: Sandwiches, hotdogs, knish, pretzels, ice cream, and cookies.

While guests were partaking in the preshow, people enjoyed music from the live band Fleur Seule; a 1940s jazz band. The band provided a great array of music that helped create the tone, of being at a resort in the 1950s.

After the preshow, the episode was shown, and was followed by an after party. The after party began with a firework display that lit up the sky. The after party was similar to the preshow activities with a just a couple changes; while the food was done, and Fleur Seule had left, the music was now
courtesy of DJ Jonathan Toubin. Just as before, the music set the tone for the rest of the evening, making the end of the party just as much fun and entertaining as the start.

If you missed this event, don’t be sad, because Rooftop Films does events in all of the five New York boroughs, just in different venues. If you want to attend shows in the future, they even have a membership program.

I spoke with a couple members of Rooftop Film while enjoying the lawn games. I’ll admit that they had impressive skills with the hula hoop. When asked about the membership, they had nothing but good things to say about it. They said the membership pays for itself with three events, and is well worth it.
