I’ve been wanting to talk about Pinfinity‘s “Augmented Reality” pins for some time now, and Bandai-Namco gave me the perfect way to do so with their partnership in light of Pac-Man’s 40th anniversary!
So what is their “Augmented Reality” collectible pins, what do they do, and how do you activate them?
That’s a lot, but let’s break it down! The pins, when scanned in AR with your phone through their app, will trigger. Bringing the pin to life with sounds and animation. The pins can even link to exclusive digital content and websites. On top of that though, they have partnered with amazing companies like Hasbro, Henson Studios, CAPCOM, and now Bandai-Namco!
So part of their deal with Bandai-Namco is to bring Pac-Man to life in one of Pinfinity’s AR pins.
How do you get one of these pins? Well, they are only available this year in Pinfinity’s subscription service named Pinfinity+, and will be available in their December box for the last month of Pac-Man’s 40th anniversary.
Pinfinity+ is a monthly subscription plan which gives people a couple of pins per month, as well as gives them a chance to win additional prizes. The cost is $19.99 a month, or $99.99 for six months saving you $20 bucks! Shipping and handling is not included, so that is extra.
