Outsight Now In Use At Charles De Gaulle To Track COVID-19

We talked about Outsight’s LiDAR system in may, see our article Here, but now we are happy to share that they are being used in public now!

A small reminder about the company is that Outsight uses a 3D Semantic Camera, with infrared lasers, to scan and track crowds in private or public places.

This LiDAR solution was selected by Paris Airport and deployed at Charles de Gaulle so that security can keep track of the crowds at the airport, while also being able to allow the public their anonymity.

The airport will not only be able to confirm that people are distancing, but will be able to watch the flow of traffic, so they can know where assets and control systems have to be utilized in real time. We only hope more companies will invest in this technology, as crowd control and metering is important to help remove the risks of COVID-19.

  1. Some terminals at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports are temporarily closed. Airlines must consequently reorganise their operations. In the same way, these same airlines are today forced to adapt their flight schedules to the travel restrictions set by the States they operate in. We invite you, before your departure, to consult the flight schedules and to contact your airline company for information on the current status of your flight.
