Universal Studios Hollywood Opens Post Covid-19 Shutdown

We’ve missed our adventures in the great state of California during COVID-19, as we did our best to stay safe, and virus free, but as society buckles, and vaccines roll out, Los Angeles, and the world are moving toward re-opening social venues.

One such venue to be re-opening is Universal Studios Hollywood, which plans to fully re-open on Friday, April 16, 2021.

Before we go into what is to be expected, we want to remind people that we are still within the thralls of a pandemic, and recommend people check out our article on “If You Should Go Out” Here. In keeping with our promise in that article, we will let you know what actions this location is taking to keep you safe.

To keep guests safe, they will be checking the temperature of all guests arriving, (a sympton only present in roughly 1/3 of people with COVID-19), requiring face masks on all attendees, (exception made when eating or drinking in designated areas, and masks are available for purchase at the location), limiting capacity at the park and venues, (some venues will remain closed due to inability to support physical distancing), regular cleaning and disinfecting of food locations/restrooms/high touch areas, physical distancing throughout the park and attractions, and an increase in payments when possible.

To sum it up, this only works if people remain vigilant, and intellegent in their decisions. There is only so much that the theme park can do, and remember society is a community sport, you are only as good a team as your weakest member. Be vigilent, and mindful of your time spend indoors around others, and you should be fine.

It’s important to manage expectations. As we said earlier some venues are not able to be operational with the current social distancing rules, there is plans to re-open them later, as government restrictions relax.

For the first time ever, ticket holders can ride Universal’s all new “The Secret Life Of Pets” ride, Off the Leash! We had previously talked about this ride coming out, pre-COVID, you can find our article Here. Attendees can also check out the remodeled Jurassic Park ride, now the Jurassic World ride, with the inclusion of the Indominus Rex!

Purchase your tickets, California residents only, online starting Thursday, April 8, 2021. Get your tickets Here!

Additionally though, the park wants to thank pass holders who have been negatively impacted by the shutdown, and will be moving forward affected by the limited admittence. To do so, they have created a special park preview for their Annual and Season Pass Members to occur on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Passholders moving forward will have select days they can use their pass, and then can return to regular use once again after May 17, 2021.
