Rochelle Steps Out For The Alice Immersive Cocktail Experience

Curiouser and curiouser.

From the creators behind The Wizard’s Den Bar in Hollywood comes their latest and most curious cocktail creation, The Alice: An Immersive Cocktail Experience! Much like the aforementioned Wizard’s Den event, the night includes immersive and theatrical storytelling, riddles, and drinks. Upon entry, the Mad Hatter excitedly greets you, checking your ID and vaccination status by the door. Luckily this door leads to the correct place, but instead of falling down a rabbit hole, you climb up a flight of stairs into Wonderland.

Before we go into more details of the events, we want to remind people that we are still within the thralls of a pandemic, and recommend people check out our article on “If You Should Go Out” Here. At this event, they take Covid precautions seriously. All attendees must show proof of vaccination to attend, and parties are limited to sitting at tables with their group. You may only unmask when you drink. And you must remain seated at your table for the duration of the story. Now back to the fun!

The March Hare readily shows you to your table, set for only the finest of unbirthday tea party guests. Arrive early enough to meander through the whimsical set (and take plenty of selfies!), of which is the stage and you are part of the show. The White Rabbit serves your first drink, a lovely peach cocktail with optional coconut whipped cream, my favorite! And don’t forget to eat your cookie.

The show begins, with comical nods to the original prose. A fun tidbit is that if you want to drink and advance to the next part of the story you must play and solve some riddles. And what’s great is that you can start this way or that way, as long as you finish all puzzles to obtain the ingredients to your recipe. During your journey through Wonderland, you will meet other characters like the Cheshire Cat and the Dormouse.

The interactive storytelling really brings you into Wonderland and makes you question what drinks Alice partook with the Hatter herself. Audience participation is a must, even if it’s merely just sitting at your table, and the ability to paint your own “canvases” with the Queen was positively charming.

This experience really incorporated some creative methods on how to enjoy a cocktail, and this is honestly my favorite way to enjoy a drink. You will laugh, you will be entertained, you will remember this delightful night in Wonderland!

One more note: Dressing up as one of the characters is encouraged and embraced. Have fun!
