Rochelle Celebrates Christmas at Nights of Lights OC

Night of Lights is back for another year at the Orange Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa. Travel through spectacular Christmas settings complete with brilliant light displays and performers bringing the joy of Christmas to life.

Before we go into the details of the events, we want to remind people that we are still within the thralls of a pandemic, and recommend people check out our article on ”If You Should Go Out” Here. In keeping with our promise within that article though, let’s talk about if this event is safe, especially with all the new variants.

So this event is all inside your car and is a drive-thru. As a result, this is one of the safer events this holiday season. As long as the people in your car are in your family you should be fine. If you lower your windows though, it’s not a horrible idea to make sure you put a mask on. Now back to the event.

Roll your windows down as you drive through one mile of wintery worlds depicting all things Christmas, and don’t forget to wear your 3D glasses for some additional “eye candy”. Like most drive-through events, they want you to turn the dial on your radio to their own unique station that plays Christmas sounds and songs nostalgic to your childhood.

With such impressive displays, it’s obvious there are more than a million colorful lights present. This drive certainly carries you through different worlds and stories, from a winter wonderland to a farmer’s house, bugs sharing the love of Christmas, a steam engine, the 12 Days of Christmas, and off to see Santa himself. And don’t forget about the number of light tunnels that act as a portal into each new world.

Their displays came to life by more than just their lights. It’s the all-encompassing theatrics of it all. Performers interact with sets and props and wave hello as you coast by. Fog and bubble machines create that realistic atmosphere, and there’s that immersive element that draws you in and makes you forget you’re sitting in a car.

I was glad to see two lanes present to keep the line moving at a snail’s pace of 3 MPH. If you got the VIP package as we did, you will have the chance to take a photo at the end. Be prepared to wait but it’s nice they text you these as a keepsake of your time here.

Notice: this event has strobe lighting, FX, fog, and haze. So if you have sensitivities, please take that into account.

This event is happening now through Sunday, January 2nd, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.. Tickets start at $39.99.

Also, if you are feeling the Christmas spirit, the Night of Lights OC will be holding a toy drive for the community, to benefit the Power of One Foundation. This Annual Toy Drive will allow attendees of the event to bring an unwrapped toy for children until December 12, 2021. Their goal is to provide toys for 5,000 children in Orange County. Toys can be handed over at the entrance of the event, and if you are looking for suggestions of what to bring, you can check out their guide Here!
