Season Two Of Dogs And First Season Of Cat People Coming To Netflix!

I had originally planned to make some light-hearted story pitting the two series against each other. I hadn’t seen the first season of Dogs, so frankly I assumed some light-hearted stories about dogs, and cats, and this would make a fun fluff piece for all our readers who have frankly had a rough year.

With all the new pet owners who adopted animals during the Quarantine, I’m sure a big group of people has joined a side if not both with regards to these loveable furballs, and puffs of ruff. I assumed that for these reasons people would want to see more content, and I could keep it light and fun.

I wasn’t prepared for the emotional napalm that was the first season of Dogs, as I attempted to catch up for my review.

That being said, the stories are not all depressing, and usually end with a high note or some bright future ahead. They showcase the importance of the relationships with our four-legged puppers, and the emotional bonds we form with these animals. If you aren’t in an emotional place though to handle your heartstrings being pulled, then I highly recommend you sit out Dogs. When you get a bit more stable, then jump into the series.

For those that love crying, then you’ll absolutely have something in Dogs.

Cat People in the other hand, while speckled with a couple of sad notes, is a lot more interesting than tear-jerking. It’s hard to have heartbreaking scenes when your animals are known for barely caring if their humans die. The series focuses on the people who love these kitties, and the way they have formed their bonds, the way cats have shaped their lives, and their feline passions.

That being said, there are some great organizations showcased in the series that could use some help, if you are feeling generous:

  • TrapKing Humane
  • God’s Little People Cat Rescue
  • Rock Cats Rescue
  • One of the more upsetting stories for the Cat People series however focused specifically on one group, the Amazing Acro-cat. They are a troop of cat lovers who train their furry friends to put on shows and help rescue feral felines. Early in the pandemic, they were betrayed by their bus driver, and long-term friend who attempted to defraud them, and under the guise of repairing their tour bus, was remodeling it for sale, or personal use.

This story specifically pulled at me, and as a result, I did a little extra research. The story is even worse than what they focus on in the series. If you watch the show and want to help out these animal lovers, then you can contribute to their GoFundMe Here!

If you are interested in both or either of these shows, then you can watch them on Netflix on July 7, 2021!
