What can be said about Geeky Teas that isn’t covered by just saying that the place is AMAZING!
So many things happen there. From the sale of teas, British imports, board games, nerd goods, to coffee. Wait did I say coffee? Why yes. Brewed so fresh it could slap you in the face, is Grindpour Coffee which is temporarily housed in their shop pretty regularly. Artisan coffee brewed with a heavy metal finish is quite the thing to take in, but oh so worth it. It truly is a thing to behold.
However where this store shines, and a marketplace that needs more love, is board games. Geeky Teas has leaned into the board game marketplace so hard, it has and will continue to leave a dent. From a super impressive collection of games for sale, their super cool/affordable/friendly game play space, to their events that they are hosting regularly in the space, this is a bonafide nerd hang out spot.
Some of their events that they are running at this location are as such:
Miniature Mondays – In-shop Painting Sessions On Mondays (Duh);
Geeky Girls Society (8yrs – 18 yrs) on Wednesday; and
Thank Goodness It’s Role Playing Game Friday on Friday.
On top of that, they host several other events, like “Wine & Watercolor” and “Come in Costume Roleplaying Games”.
At the location they also run GeeKitties Cat Rescue, which is an heartwarming endeavor. You can see cats running throughout the store, and the younger rescues in their enclosure. If you would like to help them out, you can make donations of food, litter and bedding in store or at Amazon.
Wait, I almost forgot to talk about teas! What with this being “Geeky Teas”, it would be ridiculous to not mention their amazing and affordable selection of teas. With over 20 different teas, you are sure to find the tea of your dreams. Whether it be Boomstick Tea, or Princess Peach Tea, there is something here for everyone. Well, provided you like tea.
