Nerd Out: February 2020

Second month of the new year, and “Nerd Out” is here for you once again. Lets talk about the events of the month in Los Angeles, as well as the near surrounding areas. Looking forward to more events this month? Let us know what events!

Some of the cool things going on this month are:

Strategicon – Orccon Coming to Los Angeles February 14, 2020 through February 17, 2020.

The thrice a year gaming convention is coming back to Los Angeles. This year like every other it takes place on Presidents Day Weekend.

The convention starts on the Friday prior to the holiday and runs through the weekend with games all throughout the entire weekend, even into the late nights of the convention! There is something in gaming for everyone!

As always though the dealer room access is free without a pass needed, so find your hard to get games at this convention.

A full weekend pass is $55.00 if pre-registered, $50.00 if you belong to a long list of online gaming groups. If you wait for the event to get a ticket, they charge $60 at the door. So register now, and save some money, Here!

Endless Night: Los Angeles Vampire Ball 2020 Coming to Los Angeles February 16, 2020.

Taking place at the legendary Globe Theatre, this dress code enforced gathering will get you in the mood for this Vampire Ball that will take over the night in Los Angeles.

This same organization, Endless Night, hosts events in Berlin, Paris, New York, Barcelona, Tampa, Las Vegas, Austria, Amsterdam and in New Orleans.

This ball’s theme is Anti-Valentines Day.

General Admission tickets cost $50.00 while the VIP tickets are $115.00 VIP tickets though do include early entrance, balcony access, and a swag bag. If you are feeling very adventurous, they do have the Opera ticket, which includes Opera Box and a bottle of bloodbath. The cost for that is $666. Get your tickets for the event Here.

Abilities Expo Coming to Los Angeles February 21, 2020 through February 23, 2020.

Tickets for this event are free for registered parties, but the point is about experience, help, and breaking down barriers.

Every day of the convention, they will have exhibits, showcasing assistive technology, an adaptive climbing wall, loaner scooters, sign language interpreters, and free wheelchair repair.

On select days though they’ll have classes and tutorials on power wheelchairs, accessible home design, fitness, employment, therapy horses, and Yoga.

Esports Pitch Fest Coming to Garden Grove February 28, 2020.

Are you interested in breaking into the field of esports? Want to network with those in the industry? If only there was a place where you could do that. Oh wait! Black Dog Gaming has you covered with their new “Esports Pitch Fest!”
