Movies Releasing For The Week Of October 5, 2018

We are back for another week. Ready to get my … Interesting take on movies?

Here is what movies are coming out tomorrow, and if we suggest you watching them.

Bad Times at the El Royale – Releasing 10/05/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 76%

The setting, Lake Tahoe’s El Royale hotel. The guests, seven strangers. The story, everyone has a secret, and as the night pushes forward they’ll all be tested, and have their shot at making up for each of their mistakes.

This looks like an amazing story. It could really be awesome, like Magnolia (yeah, I like that movie…) or it could be horrible like Identity (yeah, I dislike that movie). That being said, I’m willing to give this movie a try. If you are looking for more of a semi-action, hate period pieces and comic book movies, then unfortunately this is the action movie for you.

Living in the Future’s Past – Releasing 10/05/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

A documentary presented by Jeff Bridges. Not just voice over by the way, he actually has some camera time. The focus of the video is all about mankinds effects on the earth and what is going to happen, and what we have to overcome.

The movie has some beautiful visuals and depressing ones, of earth. Jeff Bridges voice is amazing, and I could listen to it all day long. That beign said, this documentary is heavy handed, and there are people who wont watch it, who should.

A Star is Born (2018) – Releasing 10/05/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 94%

Bradley Cooper plays Jackson Maine, a seasoned musician with issues, to say the least. On his journey of failure and success he discovers a struggling artist named Ally, played by Lady Gaga. He helps raise Ally into the spotlight, and gives her a second chance at her dream of being a singer. A relationship develops, and then falters. A story of pain and struggles of broken people.

If you are looking for an interesting and dramatic story, then I would recommend this movie for you. It’s got lots of amazing reviews, and the acting is top notch. Fill your drama needs with this painful but beautiful story.

Venom (2018) – Releasing 10/05/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 29%

This is the classic comic book story about a villain, turned anti-hero, that takes place in the Spider-man universe. This story will speed walk through the villain portion and then jump right into anti-hero as Eddie Brock is taken over by an alien parasite.

It’s very clear that this movie is going to miss a few points that people would like for it to hit, since it was shifted down to a PG-13 rating. I’m lacking interest personally due to the drop in rating, but I will likely still see this due to the fact that the drop in rating is a bid to keep the franchise open for negotiations with Marvel if they want to down the line. Watch at your own risk!

Viking Destiny – Releasing 10/05/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 20%

The Viking King is dead, and his daughter is framed for the murder. Odin guides her to win back her throne through the movie. To do so, she must travel the world and gain knowledge, skills and an army to regain what is rightfully hers.

If you are expecting a great movie to fill your vikings needs, I have bad news. Vikings on the History Channel is a lot more cinematic, and the battles look better. So fair warning he quality of this movie is bad. However, if you are looking for quick and dirty sword fighting and rage battles, this may still fit your action needs for the week. That being said, it’s production value hurts their story due to quality and may be hard to watch in modern times.
