Movies Releasing For The Week of March 15

We are back for another week. Ready to get my … Interesting take on movies?

Here is what movies are coming out tomorrow, and if we suggest you watching them.

Captive State – Releasing 03/15/19

It’s Chicago, and the aliens have been on Earth for ten years later. They live underground now and humanity is allowed a little more autonomy in their modern days. Society has fractured between those who worked with the aliens in hope of humanities survival, and the resistant group of humans who can’t forget the attack on Earth. The story follows one man set between both worlds.

It’s an interesting science fiction concept. Usually people always tell the story of humanity surviving because they are lucky and hopeful. When a movie showcases the failure in the battle they can sometimes end up sad and poorly made, like Battlefield Earth. John Goodman, and the rest of the cast does seem to raise the chances that it’s worth watching.

Chimera Strain – Releasing 03/15/19
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

A scientists fear of losing his children forces him to cryonically freeze his children as he researches the turritopsis jellyfish. He hopes to find a way to genetically modify a way to heal people by merging the genetic research with human stem cells.

Got this movie is creepy. Horror suspense, but revolving around dying children is sad and messed up in unique ways. Horror movies in March, why not.

Combat Obscura – Releasing 03/15/19

Miles Lagoze was deployed just out of high school as a videographer in Afghanistan by the Marines. What he was supposed to do, was to make recruitment videos, but what he did do, was create a documentary about his time in a war zone. This documentary gives a realistic and complete view of an ambiguous war that many of our friends and family have endured.

While we don’t really talk a lot about documentaries, we do talk about some important ones here in the weekly breakdown. This video is a must watch for anyone who is planning on joining the military. Watch with fresh and open eyes, not the videos the military think will make you want to join. No rose colored glasses.

Five Feet Apart – Releasing 03/15/19

Stella is a teenager suffering from cystic fibrosis. She doesn’t really have a lot of friends, but meets another suffering from fibrosis, Will. They fall in love, but their condition, and treatment prevents contact. As they continue Stella convinces Will to want to live again, but still the temptation to be closer is always there.

Stella, played by Haley Lu Richardson, and Will, played by Cole Sprouse, are cute and impressive as their tragic love story unfurls. This movie is a bit of a heart string tugger though. Be prepared for sorrow on this one.

Wonder Park – Releasing 03/15/19
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

June is a creative girl. She has always had an impressive imagination, but has since put away a lot of her childish things. One day while walking through the forest, she stumbles upon a broken down roller-coaster and is transported into Wonderland, the theme park from her imagination. Everything has fell into ruin without attention. Now she has to work within her imagination to bring the wonder back before it’s too late.

Well if you are looking for a children’s movie for the weekend, this would be the movie. It has a lot of the “Never Grow Up” feel. So be prepared with regards to it. I will specifically state that it is probably something in there to tug on the heart of adults too.
