Movies Releasing For The Week of January 4

We are back for another week, New Year, new movies. Ready to get my … Interesting take on movies?

Here is what movies are coming out tomorrow, and if we suggest you watching them.

American Hangman – Releasing 01/04/18

A Judge who presided over a criminal case is kidnapped. What starts as a basic crime begins to become a trial by public opinion about if the Judge himself ruined the criminal case. In the end of the whole presentation, the public has to decide the fate of the Judge.

This is a very interesting movie to me. I don’t like legal procedurals. I don’t exactly agree with mob justice either. This movie though has some impressive acting, and an interesting concept, that could very likely in recent days happen.

Escape Room – Releasing 01/04/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Six people enter into what they think is an opportunity, and find out it is an elaborate trap. They must now escape a high level puzzle to live.

Do you miss saw? Do you wish it was not as gory so that you could take your 13 year old child? Well boy are you in luck. This movie would have done amazingly in Halloween, but for some reason decided to launch the film in January.

Mojin: The Worm Valley – Releasing 01/04/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Following the events of Mojin: The Lost Legend, Mojin: The Worm Valley continues the story of the novels. Hu Bayi explores tombs located on a dangerous and mysterious island.

I was not even aware there was a film called Mojin: The Lost Legend. This looks like a pretty interesting action film that can fill the need that people need in an action film for the week. So if you are willing to give it a try, it might surprise you.

Rust Creek – Releasing 01/04/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Sawyer, played by Hermione Corfield, has her life ahead of her. She gets a job opportunity that she can’t turn down. On her way to the interview though she will get tested in a way that she never thought she would. Stranded in the middle of nowhere, suffering the elements and the sadistic nature of an enemy band getting closer to her, she will have to find a way to survive.

What is with the January horror movies? The premise is not unheard of. The production doesn’t look horrible, but frankly to be able to excel in this uptown woman stuck in backwoods senario, they are really going to have to nail an amazing hook. That being said, if you need a horror movie this week, at least Escape Room looks fun.

State Like Sleep – Releasing 01/04/18
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 67%

Katherine Waterston plays a widow, who a year prior had lost her husband. Events start to spin out of control when a phone call pushes her into investigating why her husband killed himself.

Luke Evans and Michael Shannon absolutely kill in this film. They literally ooze sex and creepy at the same time. If you are looking for a mystery suspense film then I’d definitely recommend this film. I mean when has Michael Shannon not killed every performance he has done.
