Movies and Videos On Demand For The Week Of October 8, 2021

As we prepare for the opening of theaters and the return to normal life practices, we want to remind people that we are still within the thralls of a pandemic, and recommend people check out our article on “If You Should Go Out” Here. Until then though, if you do go to a theater make sure it has a policy of requiring attendees to wear masks, and sit in isolated groups out of proximity of other viewers.

The Gig Is Up – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 100%

Looking into the dehumanizing and the people who are the backbone of the gig economy and workforce. This film shines a light into the real world of Uber, Amazon and more.

If you’ve thought about making a little more money on the side as a driver or delivery person, then you owe it to yourself to watch this film first to see what you are getting into. Maybe at the very least you’ll start properly tipping your drivers.

Lamb – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 90%

In Iceland, a couple discovers a born sheep that appears more man than animal. Now the makeshift mother, played by Noomi Rapace, will have to decide if raising the creature is worth defying the will of nature, and the consequences that come with it.

If the trailer for this film doesn’t make you want to see what the hell is going on in this movie, then I don’t know what will. Clearly the fever dream of a madman or a genius. Either way, I’m in!

No Time To Die – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 83%

After giving up the agency, Bond tries to find peace, but Felix Leiter drags him back into a journey that puts him right back into the clutches of the remaining remnants of Spectre. Has Bond gone rusty, or can he still save the day against a new more dangerous villain?

The final outing of Daniel Craig. If you wonder if it’s any good, it’s killing it in box offices. With action, suspense, and twists and turns, this is truly a Bond film worthy of the collection!

South Of Heaven – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Jimmy, played by Jason Sudeikis, is a convicted felon who upon release promises his girlfriend, played by Evangeline Lilly, to go clean and dedicate himself to her since she is dying of cancer. However, when his parole office, played by Shea Whigham, gives him a dirty job, he has trouble keeping his nose clean and lands in the crosshairs of a crime boss, played by Mike Colter.

Honestly, I think this film might be Jason Sudeikis’ Stranger Than Fiction. It’s usually true that comedians don’t have a problem doing drama, because comedy is so hard, but I honestly can’t wait to see this film as a huge fan of Sudeikis.

Survive The Game – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

After David, played by Bruce Willis, is injured his partner, played by Chad Michael Murray, must find the people who did it. When the trail leads them into a standoff against the gang, they will have to use all tools in their arsenal to survive, or if possible, take down this drug-dealing mob.

While I love to see Zack Ward and Chad Michael Murray getting work, I will admit that if you had to pick one action film this week, it should definitely be No Time To Die. However, if you are being safe, and not heading to theaters yet, then this action film is streaming, and you can get your action fix from your couch!
