Movies and Videos On Demand For The Week Of October 22, 2021

As we prepare for the opening of theaters and the return to normal life practices, we want to remind people that we are still within the thralls of a pandemic, and recommend people check out our article on “If You Should Go Out” Here. Until then though, if you do go to a theater make sure it has a policy of requiring attendees to wear masks, and sit in isolated groups out of proximity of other viewers.

Kelsie Voorhees, played by Hayley Greenbauer, while looking into the death of her grandmother Deborah Voorhees, she discovers that she was murdered by a fan of the Friday the 13th films that her grandmother was involved in. Now she tracking down the stalker who can’t separate life from fiction.

While we don’t usually tackle this independent of a film, it’s Halloween season, and we love Friday the 13th. If you do as well, then you might want to check out this fan film.

Dune – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 89%

Follow the epic tale of Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet, in the beautifully crafted and impressive story of Dune. Travel to a violent planet struck with conflict as water is scarce and the spice must flow.

The rating of 89% seems low considering how much the actors and reviewers are calling the film beautiful and impressive of a feat, but it is Dune. The original film was on multiple VHS. Prepare to take multiple bathroom breaks.

Every Last One Of Them – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

When Jake, played by Paul Sloan, finds out his daughter is missing, he will use all of his skills and talents as a Black Ops soldier as he engages in a rampage for revenge and justice.

Who doesn’t love an action and rampage film? However, I don’t have high hopes for the daughter’s character if part of the story is that he is out for revenge and justice. There likely won’t be a happy ending at the end of this journey.

The French Dispatch – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 84%

Return to the world of Wes Anderson, as he tells the tale of journalists of an American newspaper in France, The French Dispatch. Starring an all-star cast of all of Wes Anderson’s friends!

If you haven’t got enough of Timothée Chalamet from Dune, he is in this film as well alongside Benicio Del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Jeffrey Wright, Bill Murray, and Owen Wilson!

Ron’s Gone Wrong – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Barney, played by Jack Dylan Grazer, is a socially awkward kid, but with the help of his new digital friend Ron, played by Zack Galifianakis, Barney hopes to have a true best friend. However, when Ron starts to malfunction, it puts the two on a journey where they learn what friendship really is.

Friendship isn’t something you can just purchase in a box, but with that being said, it’s nice to see this topic covered a bit. A lot of children with social problems are being able to find help with the use of AI based tech devices that will teach them how to engage and work with others. It’s heartwarming, I only hope that Zack Galifianakis keeps his humor family friendly for this one.
