Agnes – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 71%

A young nun, played by Molly C. Quinn, begins acting disturbingly, and the rest of her convent begins to whisper the of possession. However, when the priest and his assistant attempt to dispel the demon, it backfires and leaves nothing but horror and trauma in its wake.

I loved Molly C. Quinn in Castle, and when we met her at San Diego Comic Con years prior she was an amazing and friendly person. So I am happy to see her in this film, and while the rating isn’t super high, it’s definitely worth watching in my mind for her alone.

American Sicario – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – (None Available Yet)

Erik Vasquez, played by Philippe A. Haddad, is the first American-Born drug lord to rise to power in Mexico. While he strives for money, greed, and power, he makes enemies out of the rival cartels and even pushes his allies away as he climbs up the underworld ladder.

If you are looking for a crime thriller then this film will fit the bill this week. Additionally, the film includes Danny Trejo in the cast, an amazing actor and person who started in an entirely different and more violent world before he found his current place in Hollywood. What more could you want?

Don’t Look Up – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 60%

A grad student and her professor, played by Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio, discover a comet on a collision course with Earth. However, no matter how hard they try to find someone to help them, everyone just finds the situation too inconvenient to the narrative. A comical, and also a sad story of how little the world cares about facts.

The representation of Meryl Streep as president, and Jonah Hill, playing her Chief of Staff/Son really play with the disinterest of the bad news, feeling like Trump’s phone call to Woodward talking about downplaying COVID. The movie also stars the amazing Cate Blanchett, Tyler Perry, and Rob Morgan.

The Matrix (Re-Release) – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 88%

Return to 1999, The Matrix is a story about a man lost in a world that feels off. When he gets a message that leads him to an infamous hacker, he takes the red pill and finds out that the world he has known all his life is just a simulation to keep humanity compliant.

If you are excited about the new Matrix film, then jump back into the original. Re-releasing into the theaters right before the follow-up. Why wouldn’t you want to see the film in all of its glory?

West Side Story – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 95%

When Tony, played by Ansel Elgort, sees Maria, played by Rachel Zegler, at a high school dance it’s love at first sight. But in 1957 New York City, the streets are split between two rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks. With family in both gangs, their relationship causes issues throughout both sides.

This was always a modern version of Romeo and Juliet, but now the Leonardo DiCaprio version is more modern than this period piece movie. That being said, a lot of people love the classic tale when told in the theme of West Side Story. If you like musicals and loved the original, then this is for you.
