Movies and Videos On Demand For The Week Of April 23, 2021

As we prepare for the opening of theaters and the return to normal life practices, we want to remind people that we are still within the thralls of a pandemic, and recommend people check out our article on “If You Should Go Out” Here. Until then though, if you do go to a theater make sure it has a policy of requiring attendees to wear masks, and sit in isolated groups out of proximity of other viewers.

Bloodthirsty – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 100%

An indie singer, played by Lauren Beatty, and her girlfriend head out to an isolated mansion to meet with a music producer with the hopes of rekindling her fleeting talent, but when the demands of the work get to be to tough, the singer starts to develop an animalistic side she was not prepared for. Transforming into a werewolf, she will have to discover who she really is.

Music and werewolves… rock and roll baby. No seriously though, it’s been a while since we have had a good werewolf movie and frankly I am excited to see some fresh blood, pun intended, to the genre. If you like werewolves, then check out this film!

As the Earthrealm begins to face off against Outworld for the fate of the universe, an MMA fighter, Cole Young, played by Lewis Tan, will be thrown into a world of magic, mysticism and mortal combat. With the help of several of earth’s warriors they will have to defeat the evil Emperor Shang Tsung.

Did we really need another Mortal Kombat movie? Yes. Yes we did. This movie looks amazing, but it’s sad that Johnny Cage is not in it, that being said we hope this epic looking series spawns more then just one outing so we can see all of our favorite fighters!

Street Gang: How We Got To Sesame Street – Releasing in Theaters
Rotten Tomatoes Reviewer Score – 97%

A backstage pass into the world of Sesame Street, with a brand new look at the creators who brought us this groundbreaking show. Learn what it felt like to be a member of the team, hear from surviving members of the original team, and how this little show changed and shaped television for future generations.

Growing up, I couldn’t stand Barney, for me it was Sesame Street and Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood. Both programs pushed boundaries of the times and frankly made me the level headed person I am today. Any sense of decency that I have, or concept of fair dealing I feel I owe to these programs. If you too grew up on Sesame Street, I highly recommend checking this film out.

We Broke Up – Releasing in Theaters and Streaming

Lori, played by Aya Cash, and Doug, played by William Jackson Harper, unfortunately break up at the worst time, before Lori’s sister’s wedding. Out of respect for Lori’s sister, Doug agrees to pretend to still be together with Lori to not steal the spotlight at the event. However pretending to be together is harder then either of them imagine in the high stress high flirtatious event of a wedding.

Aya Cash and William Jackson Harper are awesome actors. I’ve loved their works from The Good Place to The Boys. If you are looking for a comedy to get you through the week, this film will deliver.

When a reporter, played by Georgina Campbell, is captured by a terrorist organization, they believe they have caught something more then just a mild mannered journalist. Now the woman must find a way to survive and escape, while they try to find out what she knows about their organization and future terrorist attacks.

It’s easy, in the soft life of the continental USA, to forget how much war, danger, and pain exists in the world. Reporters in trouble zones are put in real danger regularly no matter how many steps they take to be safe. This story could literally have been plucked out of the headlines.
