Micro Con’s SuperFan Mall Is Coming Soon Find Out More!

Are you excited about Micro Con? We broke down the event in our preview Here, but the thing we can’t wait to see is the SuperFan Mall.

With that in mind, Los Angeles Comic Con gave us a sneak peek at the way they set up their VR shopping experience for the mini-event.

First and foremost, the style of the opening space reminds me a lot of the old gameshow Shop Til You Drop, with a themed entry point to what you are looking for separated into at least seven categories:

  • Pop-Culture
  • Comics
  • Anime
  • Toys
  • Games
  • Collectibles
  • Artist Alley
  • Once clicked on, you’ll enter a VR hallway, which can be used with a standard VR device, or Non-VR device.

Walk down the hallway, and look upon the shops, each with a general description, and a couple of items on display. Once you click on the shop, you’ll be taken to a webpage with the shop’s full inventory.

For the transition from VR to a webpage, it might be best to simply use your laptop for the experience, but you can always try out the VR headset for the fun of it.

If this method seems a little much for the non-tech savvy geeks, you can always low-tech shop the stores in even more categories like:

  • Anime
  • Comics
  • Gaming
  • Sci-Fi
  • Art & Photography
  • Cosplay
  • Horror
  • Toys & Collectibles
  • Artist Alley
  • Fantasy
  • Pop-Culture
  • You can even check out items by what has been viewed the most by other users, or most recently added for sale.

If you miss supporting the independent vendors of conventions, then this looks like an interesting and fun way to do just that! You can get your tickets for Micro Con Here, but hurry, as the event is coming up on April 17, 2021 at 11:00am PDT!
