Los Angeles Comic Con keeps wanting to get your attention, and they are doing it by partnering with the amazing Jim Henson Studios and Netflix to bring you an amazing double hit from The Dark Crystal.
In celebration of the release of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance coming out next month, LA Comic Con has announced that they will have a panel on the main stage specifically for the show.
The panel will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2019 and will feature the Producers, Puppeteers, and more from the Jim Henson Studios. The panel will even include a Q&A for people who want to know how to get their Kermit on!
That’s not all though, as they will also be having a Dark Crystal Cosplay Competition. The competion will be judge by contestant’s imagination, creativity, and knowledge of the world of Thra. The person with the best costume, created by themselves, that is inspired by The Dark Crystal will win an exclusive tour of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop in Los Angeles on Monday, October 14th.
The judges of the competion will be Peter Brooke (Creature Supervisor @ Jim Henson’s Creature Shop), Kirk Thatcher (Director/Producer/Writer), Halle Stanford (President of Television @ The Jim Henson Company), with more to be announced later.
Isn’t this super cool? Well it just got cooler! Gigi Edgley of Farscape will be the host of the competition!
You do have to submit your application for the competition prior to October 13th at 10 AM, and not all parties will be selected for on stage judging at 1:30 PM. However, even if you are not a finalist selected for the contest, all entries are invited to take part in the costume parade on the Main Stage before the final judging!
