Night Terrors: 13 Horsemen – Comic Book Spotlight

We’ve covered a lot of Storm King comics in the past, and love that they take chances with more independent comics, and allowing people to tell stories in print that may not have made it into the stores without the help of Sandy King. We will do our best to keep spoilers out of the story, but we may let a couple slip.

This graphic book contains over 150 pages, and tells an impressive story from start to finish, with no prior books, but we hope there will be more to tell of this story in the future, because things are left… with more to happen. If you are looking for a one off read then this book will fit the bill. Additionally the topic of demons and motorcycles are very pivotal to the story. So if those things entertain you, then you might not even need to read any more of our review, you can jump right in!

Sean Mcnabb from Sons of Anarchy got the chance to read the book, and he said it was “… a gritty masterpiece. A perfect blend of art, horror, and biker culture…” So if you are a fan of bikes and bikers then you it’s important to know this book has it in spades.

Basic Synopsis

The story jumps you right into the action of a day in the life of the 13 Horseman, a band of motorcycle enthusiasts who have a heavy burden to carry, as they and they alone appear to be facing an all out war against demons made flesh on Earth through possession. Every step they take seems to be one in the direction of a trap. Will James get his revenge, will the demons wins?

That’s where I’ll leave the story, since we don’t want to spoil anything.

My Take

The story is graphic, violent, and has a bit of nudity. Just breasts, and suggested topics, but that’s enough to warn that you might not want to give this to a younger child, if the blood and gore wasn’t already an issue. However, it’s filled with twists and turns, and while it feels like there is so much of the story to tell, it does a good job drawing us in. We want more of this series, and we hope there will be!

This comic just came out on the 10th, and is available for pick up! You can get a copy of this graphic novel at it’s source, Here!
