Vortex 2.0 Issue #3 – Comic Book Review

Hey spooky babes and boos! Welcome back to another comic review by the one and only Nerd News Social. I am ready to give you all my thoughts on the third issue of Vortex 2.0. If you missed my previous reviews of this series, you can find the first Here and the second Here! This comic is intended for mature audiences. I will advise that there are some scary images that are pretty gruesome, so if you are sensitive to that keep that in mind before you read. Sorry kids, don’t want you more spooked than you already will be!

As a quick recap, Jake Dixon is currently on the run with his former pilot Anna Cheron. Weird, terrible, and gory things are happening right now and its been a bloody mess (pun intended) for him. There are now two people currently dead, both of them being blamed on Dixon. Oh, and that astronaut named Wade we saw at the end of the second issue? His head is completely missing and yet is still alive and walking around! Something sinister is afoot in this universe…..

As we open this series, we see young Munron sleeping with a bottle of alcohol lying on the floor next to her. The depression of losing Dr. Gamaud is clearly present just from this one image. She is awakened and is taken to the violent scene of what’s left of poor Daniel’s corpse. She is informed that not only did Dixon escape, along with the help of Anna Cheron, that the aircraft they were flying blew up and they are dead. An investigation is launched to find the bodies, but she assures them that if the aircraft blew up that Anna and Jake were nowhere near it, and are very much alive….for now…

Speaking of those two, we are introduced to a whole new gang of characters who lets just say operate outside of the law. It is revealed that Dusty is their boss and she wants to settle the mystery of Jake’s involvement with what is going on. He once again must defend himself against the accusations that have circled him, pretty much since he woke up. Anna backs him up and confirms that she saw the same monsters he did back on the Benson. Dusty and her cohorts reveal a “War Mech”, a giant robot that looks like it built the most evil of beings. A mission is now in place, and Dixon now must prepare for the most intense battle of his life.

Intrigued and want to finish the rest? So much action happens in this 32 page nail biter thriller and while I would love to spoil the rest for you, you should get your copy Here!
