E3 – Day 4, Tuesday June 12th – Nintendo Conference

And of course Nintendo has to be last to make the announcements, because they usually want to SMASH the competition with some amazing stuff. A couple weeks ago, nerds everywhere needed to change their undies as Nintendo announced Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu/Evee, along with a pretty sweet Switch controller that looks like a pokeball.

Nintendo wasted no time in starting the show with the new Deus Ex Machina trailer.

Action-packed mech-on-mech battles set to the dulcet tones of screamcore metal. Coming to Switch next year.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 trailer

A visually pleasing JRPG, as usual, with an involved real-time battle system and the intense drama you’re used to from this genre. Coming September 2018. Go to e3.nintendo.com/torna for more info.

Reggie Fils Aime talked about the new Pokemon Let’s Go game, discussing in more detail the features, like playing with two people on the same console for the first time, and transferring pokemon from the mobile game into your Switch.

He also talked about the Pokeball Plus, which can be used as a joycon controller with Let’s Go. You can put a pokemon into the Pokeball Plus and bring it with you. It comes with one already inside. Are you ready to get your third set of clean underwear? Every Pokeball Plus comes with Mew.

I’ll wait while you clean up.

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Evee and the Pokeball Plus release on Switch November 16 2018.

Super Mario Party trailer

I don’t know about you, but I love the hell out of Super Mario Party. It’s like a board game night with none of the clean up. You can pair up more than one switch console and link them together with a swipe of your finger to create bigger maps that allow for more players to join you. Play anywhere, October 5th 2018

Fire Emblem trailer

The tactical RPG returns with another story. The battles get more intense, and the graphics bring everything to life. Select the characters and give them orders on the battlefield, then watch the cinematic results. Coming spring 2019

Fortnite trailer

Fornite is coming to Switch, for free on the eShop, starting today!

Reggie Fils Aime returns to talk about a few new upcoming games:

Overcook 2

“A sequel that’s brimming with more recipes, characters, kitchens, and white-knuckle mayhem.” Some of the new features include throwing ingredients, kitchens that change on you, and multiplayer co-op. Coming August 7th 2018

Killer Queen Black

This game gives me crazy amounts of nostalgia for Joust. This 4v4 multiplayer game is coming to Switch and console later this year.

Hollow Knight
This side scrolling action-adventure platformer features hand-drawn characters and levels is coming to Switch and includes all the previous DLC starting today.

Octopath Traveler will release for Switch on July 13th, and you can download a demo for the game on June 14th from the eShop.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate trailer which shows all the characters for the new fighting game. It features everyone (except Waluigi)!

You start with a small roster and unlock new characters as you go. They streamlined the process, so it should go faster than the last few games. 8 player battles make a return.

There were a ton of character updates, as well:
Mario now has his hat from Odyssey and has his wedding and builder outfits as options.
Link has costume options, remote bombs and his final smash is ancient arrows.
Ice Climbers are back, and the update makes it possible to lose only Nana, leaving us with the ominous threat: “Once she’s gone, you’re in serious trouble!”
Ike has outfit changes (no, wait, they’re playable separately and have different voices!)
Pikachu Libre is a girl.
Fox has new clothes, and a new final smash. Falco’s final smash is a more wild version of Fox’s.
Ryu will always face the opposing player’s character in a 1-on-1 fight, to reduce accidental command inputs.
Samus can now use her charge move mid-air. Marth, Roy, and Lucina’s dancing blade is faster.
Marth is also now exclusively voiced in English.
Snake returns for the first time in 10 years. Shadow Moses Island comes with him.
Pac-Man got a speed boost.
Pokemon Trainer returns with the ability to change pokemon mid-battle and with no penalty for picking online one. Pokemon Trainer also available in Female.
Captain Falcon gets a dramatic slow-mo for powerful hits, and his Big Blue stage returns.
Cloud gets some costume updates and you can now see his Limit Gauge at all times.
Villager can now see what you’ve pocketed. There are 8 versions of Villager.
Giga Bowser is bigger.
Mr Game and Watch has a closer resemblance to the original games.
Wolf returns after 10 years.
Kirby has a new stone chest from Zelda Breath of the Wild.
Shulk’s Monado arts can be selected more efficiently, and Fiora joins his final smash.
Ganondorf can become Demon King Ganon for his final smash.
Mii Fighter got some enhanced moves and you can now choose from a dozen voices.
They’re hoping for online battles.
Olimar gets cracks in his helmet when he takes damage, but repairs immediately.
Bayonetta has costume options.
Rodin appears as an assist trophy.
King Dedede, Sonic, Zelda, Pit, Zero Suit Samus, Wario, Little Mac, Ness, Lucas, and Donkey Kong get a final smash update.
Wii Fit Trainer has a new face.
Wily Castle has new hazards, and Mega Man adds Proto-Man and Bass to his final smash.
Palutena got some move upgrades to make her more streamlined.
R.O.B. has a new fuel gauge on his chassis.
Daisy and Inkling join the roster.

Inkling has 8 different character options and ink colors, which will make the 8 player games look super colorful if everyone picks a different Inkling.
There’s also a bunch of new Assist Trophies and Stages in this game, adding to the variety and replayability. Additionally, Gamecube controllers are now useable in SSBU, and has a much wider amiibo compatibility range.

And for the last SSBU update, we have….

Playable Ridley!

Super Smash Bros Ultimate will be available December 7 2018

Phew! That was a lot of info to download into my brain! All-in-all, I’m super excited to get back into these amazing Nintendo titles! Nintendo is bringing families back together by making multiplayer an easy and fun experience on a portable console.
